IE Business School, MasterCard and the Premium and Prestige Business Observatory presented the report “IE Premium Travel Barometer 2016: From experts to experts” on Monday, May 30th 2016, at the IE Paper Pavilion.
María Eugenia Girón, Executive Director of IE’s Premium and Prestige Business Observatory moderated a round table with Evelio Acevedo, Managing Director of Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum and Eulogio Bordas, Chairman and CEO of THR Innovative Tourism Advisors, following the presentation of IE Premium Travel Barometer by Jörn Gieschen, travel expert and researcher.

jessica romo winner of elle talent project 2016 |
Jessica Romo, with her on-line clothing design project, was the winner of 25.000 € to start up and a scholarship to pursue an MBA in IE Business School.
The jury members –Benedetta Poletti (Director of ELLE Spain and Publishing Director of Hearst Spain), Conchita Galdón (Director of Área 31), María Eugenia Girón (Executive Director of the IE Premium and Prestige Business Observatory), Joaquin Uribarri (IE Business School’s CEO of Executive Education) and Joseph Pistrui (IE Strategy, Leadership and Entrepreneurship Professor)– helped by the expert opinion of area 31 mentors: Mateos Kern, Mercedes Cubilo, Raúl Rebollo and Manuel Roque, had a hard time making a decision due to the high quality of the projects.
The final took place last May 31st in Area 31, IE’s start-up incubator . |

IE Business School and the Fundación de Estudios e Investigaciones Superiores of Buenos Aires have given Campi Ya Kanzi, Gudrun&Gudrun, Looptworks y Kahina Giving Beauty the Sustainable Luxury Awards this year in the Tourism, Fashion, Smart Luxury and Cosmetics categories respectively. Petit H, Simone Cipriani and Meche Correa have been distinguished as consolidated companies.

The “Crafting the Future of Fashion” Summit has been held in Milan and organized by the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana. Sustainability, creativity, young designers have been some of the topics discussed in the conference which involved among the interlocutors participating eminent names such as Patrizio Bertelli, Renzo Rosso, Franca Sozzani, Livia Firth, Imran Amed, and Paula Cademartori, to name a few.

In the first one “Trading Meets Fundamentals: Anticipating a Roller Coaster Ride for Richemont”, they explain why and how one could invest in Richemont in a year of contrasting halves for them, while the second one, “Digital Frontier 2016: Digital Luxury is turning Mainstream”, ascertains quantitative hard facts on the magnitude of the digital opportunity for luxury brands, penetration by geography and product category, e-commerce and retail synergies.
