#humanitiesweek

We are pleased to invite you to celebrate the 1st IE Humanities Week, taking place from Monday, April 9th through to Friday, April 13th, at Velazquez 130, 4th floor. Remember to register for the events you're interested in through the agenda below.

IE values the study of Humanities as a key element in understanding the realities of our world more deeply. We are a community of people who see the reality through different lenses and from different points of view, we love to rethink reality. With a more comprehensive vision of the world we can challenge the status quo! This attitude to challenge the status quo allows for true innovation and disruption to take place.

We are excited to welcome alumni, professors, students and friends of IE to our campus for the week-long celebration, kicking off on Monday April 9th. It’s not every day we get to celebrate this special IE core value of the Humanities and be part of a journey that’s all about discovery and rethinking reality.

In celebration of the First IE Humanities Week we have “dressed” both the IE Madrid & Segovia Campuses for the occasion and have a magnificent speaker series and workshops lined up throughout the week. To kick off the festivities we have challenged HST former student and artist, Masaaki Hasegawa, to represent the humanities and its correlation to happiness in the form of a piece of art (this is the image you see above). We then continued the challenge reaching out to over 500 IE community members, showing them this work of art but not revealing any information. All we asked is what do you see? Masaaki will now take these collections of words and phrases and create a life-size mosaic where speech meets art and turns into a powerful language of the HUMANITIES at IE.
Don´t miss out on being part of a LIVE work of art!
