We would like to welcome the new academic 2017 year by sharing updated information about the latest university news about our degrees, professors and students, as well as the challenges we face in this new academic year.
IE University begins new academic year with the addition of two new graduate programs
IE University today started its 2017/2018 academic year with the launch of two new degree programs (Design and Politics, Law and Economics) along with a global community of 2,900 students of 110 nationalities at its campuses in Segovia and Madrid.
This year a total of 940 new students from 82 nationalities will be attending IE University to study their different degree programs. Of these, 67% are from outside Spain, making the academic institution a reference center for foreign students. In addition, 53% of new students are women.
Like every year, IEU Student Office aims to welcome first year students with a week full of activities and events such as Paintball, Kayaking, Welcome parties or Graffiti workshops in both campus Madrid and Segovia, designed to make the beginning of their university life an unforgettable experience. The excitement of seeing new faces, starting friendships, sharing laughs and the eagerness for the unknown were not left out during the whole week! Visit our web to read more about the event.
In the same week, incoming exchange students were also invited to attend a very interactive workshop, specially designed for them, to tackle the obstacles and phases of culture shock. The session was organized by the International Mobility department in collaboration with SINEWS and exchange students received insightful information about Spanish culture, as well as tips on how to quickly adjust to the changes that moving to a new country involves. This workshop was launched last year, and because of the great feedback from international students, the IM team has decided to included it in the Orientation Week agenda as a recurring event. Read more about this workshop on our web for Exchange Students.
A HUGE THANK YOU to all our Mentors and Mentees for coming out and making both Mentorship Program Kick-Off Events a great success! We hope you enjoyed meeting some new faces. We are already planning our next events, which will take place the first week of October on each campus. Check the Mentorship Program Facebook group calendar for more details on when the events will be announced.
